We're hiring!

Full time House sitter

Location: Marlow and the surrounding areas

About us: Founded in 2022, hecadee offers expert help for dog and home. Due to incredible demand (we are now taking bookings over twelve months ahead) we are looking to grow our team so that we can help more people.

About the role: As a hecadee house sitter, you will care for our client's pets and home as if they were your own. We have a comprehensive questionnaire that will provide most of the information you need, but it is your job to go beyond that, by looking at what more you can do to make the homeowner’s experience exceptional. This can range from enrichment activities for the pets, running the home, taking photo’s to send to the owner, keeping an eye on the indoor plants and garden, dealing with tradesmen, setting a clock to the correct time or doing the ironing. This is of course balanced by a need to be aware of boundaries, and being careful not to overstep them.

Responsibilities: This is a varied, and interesting role, with a very simple set of responsibilities

  • Exceptional timekeeping
  • Understand what is being asked of you before the stay begins by meeting the owners, the pets, and seeing the home. Ask for any clarifications and know what “normal” looks like in this home.
  • Care for our client's pets and home while they are away
  • Ensure the safety of the pets and home at all times
  • Leave the pets and home in a state that is as good or better than you found them.
  • Keep records of your work, so that these can be referenced by other sitters at a later date (we understand that you need a holiday too!)

Candidate requirements: Successful candidates will need to:

  • Love animals, all types
  • Be honest, punctual, careful and competent
  • Know how to run a home
  • Have a customer centric outlook
  • Have or be willing to get a DBS check, pet first aid and first aid qualification
  • Be able to stay in other people’s houses for up to three weeks at a time
  • Successfully complete a probationary period

What we offer:  Successful candidates will have the opportunity to live in some stunning houses, looking after a wide range of pets from snails to horses, but mainly dogs and cats. This role is ideally suited to someone who has the flexibility to work from home, loves animals, and likes variety in their life.

Remuneration is based on experience, and the type of contract that would best suit your lifestyle.

Ongoing training will be provided to enhance skills in your chosen development area.
